Spartans take Second in League Championship Meet

Lawrence -  The Spartans got great performances out of their top 5 and fell only 15 points short of their first league title at Elm Bank Reservation.   Jon Cruz (3rd 9:16), Zach Ducharme, (4th 9:18), Eric Lantigua (5th 9:37), Shamiel Brito (9th 10::13) and Oneida Rios-Gonzalez (20th 11:55) scored for the Spartans.  Matt Greenlaw of Pioneer Charter was first overall.

This year's league scores were based on Co-ed races.  If a girl's division was counted the Lady Spartans would have won the league title going away.  Their top five scorers were Rios-Gonzalez, Elemy Colome (12:10), Emyliana De La Cruz (12:10), Jacklyn Matos (12:23), and Joaly Rosario (13:17).

Some other standouts include, Ivan Geronmio (12:13) who was the first 6th grader across the line in the league championship.  Ariel Portrreal and Na'Blaghe Adaramola had great season's with time improvements in each race this season.

Congratulations to the Spartans on a very successful season.
