awrence - The balanced and dynamic Texan
offense proved too much for the Lions to overcome in Super
Bowl IX with the Texans winning 30-19.
Early in the first half, the runs of Shamiel Brito and the
passing to Dalvis Martinez and Elemy Colome kept the Lions
on their heals. The Lions got great early
performances from JanCarlos Infante, catching his fifth TD
of the year on a pass from Brandon Lucero.
Jaxell Negron took over on defense for Texans, recording 10
tackles on the day. A late touchdown catch by Joseph
Fabian for the Lions, his first of the season, made the
score 24 -19.
Brito and the Lions made short work of the Lion defense on
the following possession and sealed the victory on a
touchdown pass from Brito to Negron. The Texans
finished 8-2 on the season with the Lions finishing 7-3
overall.
